Indians Crossing a Stream, Indian Girls Watering Horses
Miller tailored this scene of Indian women watering their horses—and at least one other version (CR# 439A)—to an oval format. In other related works, the artist utilized a horizontal, rectangular composition and included additional figures and a more clearly defined mountain landscape in the background.
